Submission Guidelines
The current reading period for Issue #22 is from September 1, 2009 though May 1, 2010.
the Marlboro Review prides itself on publishing established, emerging, and often unknown writers. Several of our contributors have had their first published work appear in the journal. Recent contributors include Stephen Dobyns, Jean Valentine, Brenda Hillman, Jorge Carrera Andrade, and Chana Bloch.
the Marlboro Review accepts poetry, fiction, interviews, criticism, reviews, parts-of-novels, long poems, and non-fiction. We prefer that fiction be 25 pages or less. We are particularly interested in translation, as well as cultural, scientific and philosophical issues approached from a writer’s sensibility. Simultaneous submissions are okay if you tell us. The Marlboro Prize in poetry has been an annual competition for which the next deadline has not been set.
We expect to have document upload functionality installed on the site by the Spring of 2010 at which time electronic submissions only will be accepted. Until then, however, please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
