At Last

Posted by Editor in At Last

And I don't mean the song of the same name: “my love has come along. My lonely days are over and life is like a song”.  And if you want to hear a great new version of that old standard check out Raiatea Helm, (www.raiateahelm.com), one of the musical Helm Ohana (the Hawai`ian word for family) of Moloka`i. She is indeed a Hawai`ian blossom(the title of her most recent CD). The girl can sing and has a fabulous falsetto that can be one of the highlights of Hawai`ian music. And for great Hawai`ian music from the likes of Raiatea, Nathan Auweau, Cody Pu`eo Pata and the one and only Israel Kamakawiwi`ole, go to www.mele.com and give a listen. But I digress. I digress a lot and probably will continue to do so.

Back in the saddle

Posted by Editor in Untagged

"Back in the saddle again....."  not that I was gone or out of it but  I did the equivalent of falling off the horse in that I had written a couple of long blog posts, entries, whatever you call them, and my cat Weeble jumped on my keyboard and did away with them.  And I mean away. I used to represent the town I live in on our county-wide waste district and one of the things recycling education is supposed to teach is that there is no "away" where trash is concerned.  Well, I am here to tell you that when working on a remote server that there most certainly is an away and my blog fell into it -- in pieces. I am now attempting to pick them up.

Editor's first SUCCESSFUL attempt: one hopes.

Posted by Editor in Untagged

Well, at last we shall see if the stars are now aligned properly so that the blog entry can be saved and posted. I say that because what was supposed to have been the editor's first blog entry was done some time ago and every time I tried to save it, there it went -- into the cyber-void. So I am much practiced at writing the foolish thing but the result is like that of those folks who say "I only write for myself." Well, that's not my feeling: why write if not to communicate? It has been writing that has kept me from feeling that I am not beating my head against the wall -- thinking that maybe someone else out there felt or thought some of the same way I did. That I can get thoughts across to others often makes  my day, or month, or year.
