Web Accessibility

Accessibility Statement

It is our sincere intent that this site be easy to use and accessible to all visitors so that everyone may enjoy the excellent literature we publish. We have attempted to follow current best practices for building an accessible site, but are aware that there are still minor (hopefully!) improvements for us to make. If you find a specific problem viewing or reading the site, please contact the Webmaster. Your comments will be invaluable to us as we strive to improve the site for your enjoyment.

Navigating with the Keyboard

Hidden from view at the top of every page are two "skip" navigation links that are intended to assist those who navigate using the "tab" key instead of a mouse. The first link allows you to skip past the navigation menu to go straight to the main content. The second skip link takes you directly to the list of links in the footer (the bottom) of every page. These two skip links become visible—and available— to the user upon the second and third depression of the tab key when first arriving on any page in this site.

If the skip links are not used, tabbing progresses in the following order:

  1. Text resizing links
  2. Primary navigation menu
  3. Secondary navigation menu (on those pages where the secondary navigation menu appears)
  4. The log-in form (on those pages where the log-in form appears)
  5. All links and form fields in the main content area
  6. Footer links

Sighted users will notice that the color of the link as well as its background color changes when "focused upon" during tabbing. This is to provide visual assistance in tracking where on the page your "cursor" rests.

To activate a link, simply hit the "enter" key when that link is focused upon.
